What is 20X?
20X is a no-code AI agent platform for business operations. Teams use it to build, deploy, and run voice and chat agents that complete work — answering customers, qualifying leads, booking appointments, following up, chasing payments, and handling back-office steps — across phone, web chat, WhatsApp, SMS, and email. It is built by Setoo and available at 20x.business.
If you only remember one contrast: a chatbot answers questions. A 20X agent completes work.
Definition, without the category jargon
“AI operating system” is how we position 20X. It is not what most people type into Google. What they type is closer to: AI voice agent, AI customer support, AI lead follow-up, AI receptionist, no-code AI agents.
Under the positioning, the product is a workspace that combines:
- Agent orchestration (goals, not just a prompt box)
- A visual workflow builder
- Knowledge base / RAG on approved content
- Tool calling into the systems you already use
- Campaigns for outbound reminders and follow-up
- CRM webhooks
- Analytics on runs and outcomes
- Human-in-the-loop controls
- Integrations (50+ connectors in the current product surface)
All of that is meant to be owned by operations, not only by engineering.
The origin story — why this exists instead of another widget — is in Why we built 20X.
Chatbot vs point-tool stack vs 20X
| Chatbot / FAQ widget | Zapier + point tools | 20X agent | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Primary job | Answer questions | Glue apps together | Complete a business workflow |
| Channels | Usually web chat | Whatever you wired | Phone, chat, WhatsApp, SMS, email with shared context |
| Knowledge | Scraped or uploaded FAQs | Scattered | Approved knowledge with fallbacks |
| Actions | Limited | Many, fragile | Tools + workflows + CRM, with audit |
| When it fails | Hallucination or “I don’t know” | Silent break at 2am | Transfer, ticket, callback, HITL gate |
| Who changes it | Often a vendor or engineer | Whoever owns the zap | Operators in a no-code workspace |
| Cost model | Seats or bundled SaaS | Many vendors | Pay per minute of actual usage |
Use the table when you evaluate “do we need another bot?” If the work stops at an answer, a chatbot may be enough. If the work includes a lookup, a booking, a reminder, a score, or a route, you need an agent.
How it works
The path from sentence to live agent is the same on the homepage as in production:
- Describe the workflow in plain language
- Configure the agent (role, goals, tone — including English, Hindi, or Hinglish for voice)
- Connect tools and integrations
- Add approved knowledge
- Set guardrails and escalation (transfer, ticket, callback, approval)
- Test in the simulator
- Deploy on the channels you actually use
- Watch runs
- Review exceptions
- Improve from real conversations
You do not need a flowchart to start. You do need to decide what the agent is allowed to do and when a human must take over. That is the difference between a demo and something you can put in front of a customer.
Channels and capabilities
20X is built for omnichannel operations, not a single inbox:
- Voice — real telephony, barge-in / full-duplex, Hindi, English, Hinglish
- Web chat — on-site agents
- WhatsApp — commerce and support threads
- SMS — reminders and follow-up
- Email — asynchronous threads with the same knowledge and tools
Named solution areas on the site map to those jobs:
- Customer support
- E-commerce and retail
- Appointment booking
- Lead qualification
- Internal operations
- Onboarding and HR
If you sell online, the public proof point is how Thrifti runs resale operations on 20X.
Who it is for — and who it is not
Fit: solopreneurs through mid-market operations (roughly 1–5,000 people); industries with call volume, chat volume, appointments, or lead volume; agencies that want a repeatable way to deploy AI ops for clients.
Decision-makers we write for: founders, heads of ops, support leaders, RevOps, IT/security, agency owners.
Weaker fit: FAQ-widget-only needs; consumer chatbot experiments with no workflow; buyers who must have SOC 2 Type II certification immediately (current posture is SOC 2-ready, not certified); fully autonomous legal or medical decisions; tiny volume where automation never pays back.
Pricing, in operator language
There are no seat-based “Starter / Pro / Enterprise” gates on the public site as the primary model. You pay per minute. One balance covers voice, chat, WhatsApp, and email. Per-minute cost depends on the LLM, speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and whether knowledge retrieval is on. Top-ups do not expire. Committed-use pricing exists for high volume (on the order of 25k+ minutes/month). You can start free; spend happens when agents handle real conversations.
That mental model matters: idle seats do not leak budget the way a per-user helpdesk does. Usage still needs a calculator and a pilot. Use the Voice AI cost estimator or the AI agent ROI calculator before you argue about budget.
Do not treat a calculator output as a quote. It is a planning estimate.
Two ways to get into production
You can start self-serve: describe the workflow, test, deploy. That path exists so a founder does not wait on a statement of work to put an agent on one inbox.
You can also build it with Setoo. Consulting covers audit, implementation, and training when the workflow is messy — telephony, multiple CRMs, or a team that wants a production runbook. Enterprise options (including white-label / VPC-style deployments) are quoted separately and depend on availability. Neither path is “magic AI.” Both still need approved knowledge and a human escalation path.
If you are deciding between them, book a strategy call. If you already know the workflow, start free.
Guardrails operators should demand
Any agent that talks to customers will be asked something it should not invent. 20X is designed so you can:
- Ground answers in approved knowledge
- Log unknown questions
- Transfer, open a ticket, or require approval
- Keep role-based access and an audit trail
Those controls are why we do not describe 20X as fully autonomous. Autonomy without an off-ramp is how brands get hurt. Completing work still means knowing when not to.
How to evaluate 20X in an afternoon
Paradox of choice kills enterprise AI evaluations. Do not start with twelve workflows.
- Run the automation opportunity quiz or pick the pain you already know (missed calls, slow leads, no-shows).
- Put a number on it with the matching free tool.
- Open the matching solution page and check channels, guardrails, and whether your stack is in the integration list.
- Either start free on that one workflow or book a discovery call.
Foot-in-the-door is intentional. A free tool is the small yes. A live agent on one workflow is the next yes. A multi-department rollout is not the first yes.
FAQ
What is 20X in one sentence?
20X is a no-code AI agent platform for business operations that lets teams build, deploy, and run agents which complete work across phone, web chat, WhatsApp, SMS, and email.
How is a 20X agent different from a chatbot?
A chatbot answers questions. A 20X agent is configured with goals, tools, knowledge, workflows, and escalation so it can complete operational work — then hand a human the cases that need judgement.
Who is 20X for?
Founders, operations, support, sales, and IT teams in businesses from one person to mid-market, plus agencies that deploy AI operations for clients. Strong-fit work is high volume, appointment-heavy, lead-heavy, or repetitive across channels.
How does 20X pricing work?
Usage-based. You pay per minute; one balance covers voice, chat, WhatsApp, and email. Per-minute cost depends on the model, speech, and knowledge retrieval you turn on. Top-ups do not expire. Start free; spend starts when agents handle real conversations.
